All Are Welcome In This Place

Kirkby Lonsdale Methodist Church offers a very warm welcome to worshippers of all ages. The Church has been a focus for Christian worship in the town for 170 years and is pleased to play an active part in the ecumenical group, Christians Together in Lunesdale.

Originally founded as a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in 1834, the Church has seen many changes over the years, with a Schoolroom being built in 1893 and a major extension completed in 2003.

At the Service in May 2003 which marked the opening of the Extension, we used the theme of 'Living Stones' to represent the different part each of us plays in building God's Kingdom in this town.

Our congregation is made up of many different Church backgrounds and we are fortunate to have a thriving Junior Church.

The style of worship is informal and Bible-centred. Morning worship is always at 10.30 am each Sunday with a crèche and Junior Church with separate groups for those of primary and secondary school age

Our Minister, Andrew Webb, is based in Kendal, and leads worship at least twice a month. The remainder of our Services are led by a team of core lay preachers and visiting preachers, who can be lay or ordained. In recent months we have welcomed visitors representing The Bible Society and Capernwray Bible College.

Whether you are on holiday in the area, or just looking for a Church which is right for you, you will be warmly welcomed.
