Director is THE tool for offline multimedia
Adobe (and previously Macromedia) maintain that Director is the best tool for authoring content for CD-ROM / DVD-ROM and kiosks (see their document Director vs Flash). Unlike Flash, Director can produce powerful and reliable system integrated applications that can work with almost all major file types. In addition Director's support for third party plugins means unlimited additional functionality. Most of Lunar's multimedia jobs include the kind of integration and interaction (with files such as large videos and PDFs) that Flash simply can not handle.
